Surrounded by the majestic peaks of Chubu-Sangaku National Park, a tranquil getaway awaits you along a pristine mountain stream. Imagine immersing yourself in a serene space where time slows down, and every moment is heightened by the flavors of "Creative Kaiseki" cuisine—traditional multi-course dinners reimagined with seasonal, local ingredients. A growing number of travelers are journeying to our doors seeking exactly this: a perfect harmony of Nagano's breathtaking nature and exceptional culinary artistry.

Today, we invite you to discover the unique charm of our intimate ryokan and how it serves as the ultimate peaceful sanctuary for exploring the Japanese Alps.

The Culinary Art of Shinshu: Seasonal Creative Kaiseki

The Shinshu (Nagano) region is a treasure trove of seasonal ingredients nurtured by pure mountain water and crisp alpine air. From fresh spring wild plants and sweet river fish to locally grown vegetables and premium, melt-in-your-mouth Shinshu Wagyu beef, the quality of the local produce is exceptional.

While honoring the meticulous traditions of Japanese Kaiseki, our chefs infuse modern creativity into every dish. Each course is a visual masterpiece, beautifully arranged to mirror the changing seasons.

Many of our guests arrive after an invigorating day of hiking in Kamikochi. After hours of walking amidst stunning vistas, dinner becomes a deeply rewarding highlight of the stay. Served in the quiet privacy of a personal dining room, you can savor the delicate colors, rich aromas, and subtle transitions of flavor, engaging all five senses in a blissful, unhurried dining experience.

The Luxury of Just 8 Rooms: Serenity and Personalized Care

We purposefully focus on creating a space where time flows gently, offering a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. With only eight guest rooms in total, our ryokan offers an exclusive, intimate atmosphere where your privacy and peace of mind are our highest priorities.

Each room is designed to be a sanctuary of relaxation. Our second-floor rooms feature private foot bath terraces, while our first-floor rooms come equipped with their own private outdoor hot spring baths (onsen) and secluded gardens. Here, you can soak in the therapeutic, mineral-rich waters at any hour of the day, surrounded by nature. Furthermore, our large public bath can be reserved for private use during the night.

What truly defines the experience here is our deeply personal approach to hospitality. From tailoring menus to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies to providing personalized travel advice for your alpine itinerary, our dedicated staff ensures that you feel completely cared for—as if staying at a refined home away from home.

The Perfect Base for an Alpine Journey: Kamikochi, Norikura, and Shirahone

Our ryokan is strategically positioned as a premier gateway for a multi-day journey through the "Alps Mountain Village" region, which encompasses Kamikochi, Norikura Highlands, and the historic milky waters of Shirahone Onsen.

Located perfectly midway between the historic castle city of Matsumoto and the traditional town of Takayama, we are within easy walking distance to the Sawando Bus Terminal (the transit hub for shuttle buses heading to Kamikochi). This means you can bypass heavy traffic, utilize real-time parking congestion guides, and smoothly transition to the eco-friendly shuttle buses heading directly into the national park.
