Savor the Essence of Shinshu
Exquisite Kaiseki Dining in Semi-Private Spaces

At Keiryuso Shiorie, located in Matsumoto Azumi (Sawando Onsen), we invite you to experience the finest handcrafted Japanese Kaiseki cuisine, beautifully showcasing the fresh, seasonal bounties of the Shinshu region.

To ensure a relaxing and intimate dining experience, both breakfast and dinner are served in our dedicated dining spaces. Most are arranged as "semi-private" booths thoughtfully partitioned with walls, allowing you to immerse yourself in conversation with your loved ones and savor each dish without worrying about crowds or other guests.

Our chef meticulously prepares each course, serving hot dishes fresh and warm, one by one. Our philosophy is to offer elegant, multi-course Japanese dinners that are deeply comforting yet sophisticated, without any unnecessary formality.

Whether you are unwinding after a day of trekking in Kamikochi or exploring the beauty of Norikura Highlands, our heartfelt hospitality and exceptional culinary journey will gently restore your body and soul. Enjoy a truly memorable and exclusive dining experience in the Northern Alps.

Breakfast

Freshly Cooked Clay-Pot Rice for a Perfect Morning
Early Departure? Switch Your Breakfast to a Bento Box

Start your refreshing morning at Sawando Onsen with a nourishing Japanese breakfast served in a cozy, private dining space.

The star of our breakfast is the premium rice, grown exclusively for Shiorie by our trusted local contract farmer in Matsumoto. To ensure the ultimate taste, we cook the rice in a traditional clay pot ("Donabe") for each room individually, timed perfectly to your specific breakfast schedule. Enjoy it with a variety of side dishes based on local Shinshu and Hida regional cuisine, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients.

[For Guests Departing Early to Kamikochi]
If you are catching the early morning shuttle bus to Kamikochi (Sawando Bus Terminal is just a 10-minute walk) or heading out for an early trek, we offer a service to change your breakfast to a special "Bento Box" (advanced reservation required).
We hand you the bento box the night before, so you can store it in your room's refrigerator and warm it up using the guest microwave whenever you are ready. Enjoy a stress-free, comfortable start to your mountain adventure!

Dining

Cozy "Semi-Private" Dining Spaces with All Table Seating

Both breakfast and dinner are served in our dedicated dining spaces, ensuring a peaceful and exclusive environment for every guest.

All of our dining areas feature comfortable, Western-style table and chair seating (no tatami-floor sitting required). Most spaces are arranged as "semi-private" booths thoughtfully partitioned to guarantee your privacy.

For groups, we also offer a "fully private dining room" that accommodates up to 10 guests—perfect for family gatherings or small celebrations. With only 8 rooms in our entire ryokan, we provide a quiet, safe, and relaxing atmosphere in the heart of the Japanese Alps.

With only 8 rooms, our quiet and serene ryokan is the perfect destination for celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries, longevity milestones, or any special family occasions.

Savoring our beautiful, handcrafted Kaiseki dinner in a semi-private dining space sparks natural conversations and creates unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

[Surprise Cakes & Flower Arrangements]
To help elevate your celebration, we partner with "cake.jp," a specialized online ordering service for cakes and fresh flowers.
You can easily order your preferred cake or bouquet online in advance (paid service). We will safely receive it and present it to your table at the perfect moment during your dinner. Let us help you create a truly memorable, heartwarming moment in our cozy mountain hideaway.
